    Happily-Ever-After

As I have mentioned somewhere before, I don't believe in "Happily-Ever-After" or perhaps, "Fairytales".

To me, I think that fairytales are stories fabricated to ease the pain and sorrow of human being. These happy moments, and also fantasy imaginations, are actually a double-edged sword in disguise. To put them in a more favourable term, people call them happy memories. Yeah, that's true until a certain extent, but to turn it the other way round, we can call it a temporaral painkillers for the longer pain they are going to withstand in the near future.

I'd say, this is the fundamental behind everything. That's solely because, life is linked with the chinese term called "生老病死". As human being, death is inevitable, and thus, we cannot achieve immortality. Life is limited, but while we're staying on this world, we create happy or sad memories with the people around. Of course, we'd try our best to forget the sad ones while retaining the positive counterpart. Little did we know, this is equal to accumulating our own pain.

Let's take an example from the practical world. Whenever there's departure of our close-relation, we will definitely feel distraugthed, also struck by fear and sorrow. Think over it? Why do we feel so sad from it? Because they are close to us? Nay, that's one of the reason, but the main reason is due to the happy memories we shared with them. This has been the root of our pain, inevitably triggered as we can no longer create these sort of memories with them anymore. That's why I can reach for the conclusion of, unbeknownst to us, sharing more memories with a someone creates more pain.

Still don't believe me? Take an easier example. Comparing the depature of a parent or a stranger, which one would give you a larger impact?

Somewhat after thinking over the matter, I think "Happily-Ever-After" is a hanging sentence by itself. It's an unfinished gem which requires polishing. In fact, it should be something like this.

    "Happily-Ever-After-Until-They-Die"

And, happy memories are actually one amongst the root of our pain.
