The Definition of Rich & Poor

What does it mean to be rich actually?

Some people will say, earn enough money to support family and that's more than enough. Some might say, earn big bucks and to be able to spend as much as they can. And yet, there are also people who thinks about being the richest among all.

But as we look deeper into the matter itself, being rich is tightly connected to happiness, don't you think so? It takes you rich to be happy, and without money, life will be miserable. Of course, it'd be more heartbreaking if your wife and children are going to suffer alongside with you.

That's why, people strive for success and wealth.

I agree that everyone has a different, or perhaps, unique point of view towards the matter, but that doesn't mean that you are entitled to make the other suffers just to put yourself in a better situation.

I'm a firm believer of the Law of Conservation. It states that: To gain something, something equal in value must be sacrificed to exchange for it. Yeah, it's darn right. You might argue that the sacrifice of a person is his or her efforts paid to earn the money, but think deeper. It may not be as simple as it seems.

Like my friend once told me, the rich people is the success among the failures, i.e. the poor people. There are a lot people who are being buried beneath the person in order for him the earn that particular success. If not, where do you think his money comes from? Heaven? Blardy no. Of course, this person gained at the expense of other, and if you're feeling sorry for the victims, don't be. Because, that's how the world works in real life.

Take a very simple example for that. A soccer team scores a goal. You'll think that it's a good thing cause team A is very delighted, happy about the result, but what about team B? They're upset. A scored the goal at the expense of B. Can I put it that way? A's happy, and B's upset. And, say, if A gives B a lump sum to make them happy, A loses money. There's never a perfect win-win situation. It's just a matter of personal satisfaction, or how much a party is willing to sacrifice for the gain of the other.

In the case of rich and poor people, if things go on this way, the gap between the rich and poor people is going to be dramatically separated. The rich will becomes richer, while the poor becomes poorer.

Strictly speaking, I see no good solution to that, apart from trying my best to do what I can do. In the end, I'm still a living being who tries to fit himself miserably into the corrupted society nowadays, intending to build and support his own family and have a contented life. That's all.

This is my definition of rich: Be able to make yourself happy, and at the same time, share your happiness with as many people around you. It's not a world-domination dream to earn so freaking much money -more than you're able to spend- and keep them all to yourself. That's pure selfish.

Enough of my rambling, a bit contradicting at time, but I hope you readers will get my point. Just being honest to myself. :)
