Well, I think a lot people (including me in the past) have missed out this advantage of sms-ing, which is to give the opposite party time to consider the question, think through it, and eventually reaching to an answer.

At least, it's something that can't (or pretty hard) to be done via direct conversation. The reason is that a person may need time to digest the question -it takes time- and direct call may seem to be slightly rushing at times.

Thus, I believe that text messaging can allow a person to acquire a better quality response/feedback in the end as compared to its counterpart.

But, the bad is that the person may never reply you, so, I'd dub that "taking forever to response"...
